Sleeping Beauty
Now that Abby doesn't have naps in the afternoon, it is somewhat easier to get her to go to bed at night. Which is why last night was so weird. We had finished supper and were just relaxing in the livingroom when Abby said she was tired and wanted to go to bed. I looked at the clock 6:40. Well, it's still pretty early so we convinced her to take a bath and then go to bed. She played for awhile in the tub and then still wanted to go to bed. When she was all dried off, and into bed, I looked at the clock. 7:15. Not bad. I mean, it's still a bit early but if she's tired then might as well put her to bed. So we say goodnight, close the door and go downstairs to watch some TV. That's when I see the digital clock. 6:20. I checked my phone, I checked the other clock. I honestly believed that sometime between leaving Abby's room and walking downstairs, daylight savings time had occurred and I lost an hour. But sadly, the truth was that I still cannot read a face clock! Arg. So it turns out Abby went to bed just after 6 pm. She played in her room for about an hour and then went to sleep. We were figuring she'd be awake and ready to play at 5am because of all this. But she didn't. It was 4am. The conversation went something like this:
"I wanna play."
"No."
"But please."
"Go to bed."
"But Mommy."
"Good night." Shuts the door. Walks aways. She played for half and hour or so (I had to take Isabelle into my room because she was getting hungry - again!) Then she didn't wake up again until 8:45. As for Isabelle - she was up at 1am, 2am, 2:30am, (Abby up at 3am with a broken nail) and then again at 4am. Needless to say, this is going to be a two cups of coffee day.
