#SundaySupper
I started a weekly tradition of posting our Sunday Suppers on Instagram quite awhile ago now. Some of the times it’s to show off large meals like roast and briskets that create leftovers for the rest of the week. Some times we make meals that take more time and ingredients than usual like sushi or stuffed chicken breasts. Then there are those meals that we make/buy like cheese bread and popcorn or takeout pizza because we went away for the weekend and we’re too tired to cook.
This weekend was Thanksgiving. Traditionally we would have a turkey or chicken or a ham with all of the fixings. Then I would take a picture of my full plate with glass of wine and post it for all to see.
Of course, this year was different. But for a good reason. We celebrated my uncle’s 65th birthday over the weekend. We spent time with my cousins and met their kids. We also got a chance to visit another aunt and cousin. There was something that my aunt said when she was making her birthday speech that really resonated with me. She shared that especially now it is so important to celebrate every chance you get. And I think that’s why I felt it was so important to make the trip to celebrate with them.
And on Sunday we celebrated our Thanksgiving with my husband’s parents by ordering in ribs from Montana’s.
It wasn’t the most traditional Thanksgiving meal but I’ve come to learn that it isn’t the food that makes the Sunday Supper but those who share it with.
