I Don't Have a Baby Anymore!

It's official. For the longest time, I've referred to Isabelle as my baby. On twitter, in an attempt to not use her name, I call her Baby. But now, I have to accept the fact that she is no longer a baby. She is now a toddler. I have put this off as long as I could but it's quite obvious now. She's 14 months old now and she's "walking around". She's also climbing like a monkey. She's mastered crawling up the stairs and has the right idea about going down. She can climb up onto the couch and even get down safetly. She knows to turn around and slide down. Our couch sits right beside our china cabinet. The little monkey will climb up on the couch, onto the armrest and then attempt to step over to the cabinet. After the 50th time of picking her up and setting her down before she falls, I put the bin full of stuffed toys beside the couch. Sure enough, this morning she decided to take a running stab at it. She was on the couch and before I could get up and walk the three feet to her, she had scrambled up and over, and right into the waiting toy basket. We've already had to reposition the baby gate on the stairs so she can't climb over. I think we need baby gates all over the house!

Another thing that has changed for me is my twitter handle. It used to be BlueJane52. 52 being my favourite number and Blue Jane for the Blue Jays (Jane is my middle name, aren't I clever?)  Well, my support for the Jays has been lacking lately. I haven't watched a single game on TV all season long. I do listen to them on the radio and try to follow the news on twitter but it's not the same as it was a few years back when I knew the entire line up backwards and forwards, including batting averages and countries of origin. So I picked a handle better suited to me. Since Pathetic Ramblings was too long, I decided on PatheticRambler. So feel free to follow me. I'm about as witty and insightful there as I am here. All be it, very much abridged.

So things are changing, have changed and will continue to change. And for this girl who hates change, it's a bit hard to take. But I'm getting my practise.
