It's Working Out

Before Christmas, I signed up for a new fitness class that the city was offering (for free). It's 8 classes, twice a week and it started this week. And so far, so good. I was so nervous to start. There were two other girls there that I knew so that put me at ease. The rest of the class was a mix of girls my age, and women over 50. The class was a lot of dance aerobics with a belly dancing flavour and the some yoga/Pilates. I really enjoyed it. It wasn't too much or too intense. I know a couple girls didn't like that because they are used to a more intense workout but for me, just beginning, it's nice to get out of the house, and get moving for an hour. Heaven knows I wouldn't do it on my own. There's a daycare there that looks after Isabelle (and Abby when she doesn't have school) so it's nice to know they are having a good time while I'm out working up a (small) sweat.

This experiment has given me the confidence to maybe sign up for another class when this one is over. And maybe take the leap and try something a little more challenging. It's going to be tricky when I start working in March. Oh, did I not mention that? I'm going to be providing child care to a one year old when my friend goes back to work. And I'm going to start watching him for an hour an day, twice a week starting next week in order to transition. I'm looking forward to the next chapter in my life. Should be interesting, and fun.
