So Fly

In an effort to be more organized, I signed up with FlyLady.net. I like its basic message, do one thing at a time, clean for only 15 minutes at a time and make sure your sink is clean. It's a good way not to get overwhelmed by the cleaning and yet still maintain a clean house. One of its suggestions is to always get dressed, even shoes. And it goes for Stay at Home moms too. I can see the value in this one. Just because no one other than my kids will see me, doesn't mean I should be dressed. I find it hard to "start the day" when I'm sitting around in my housecoat. Another suggestion is to make sure you get up 15 minutes before everyone else so you can get things ready for the day. I like the sounds of it but the execution is where I have troubles. It's so easy to say, the night before, that I will get up early the next morning. Then, when the morning rolls around, it is the last thing I want to do! And that is why, at 8:44am, I am sipping my coffee, at the kitchen table still wearing my housecoat. Look, I had a rough night. Isabelle was up and it took awhile for her to go back down. But I still stand by the basic principles of Fly Lady. Time to get dressed and start the day.

So ... it occurrs to me that if everyone in your house followed the flylady and her advice, you would get up 15 minutes earlier than everyon else, and tomorrow, they would get up 15 minutes before you. Not being one to be outdone, things would escalate. Eventually you would get up on monday morning (for Tuesday.)
