My Time to Shine!

So today at choir, we're practising for Beauty and the Beast. There is one high note that the sopranos have to sing (high B flat). We were all giggling about it and how none of us are going to be able to reach it. Well, when we get to the part, everyone drops out but I sang it. Everyone started applauding. It was great. So after a few times, more people are to sing it. Then we decide it's too high for most sopranos so some can go to the G (which is still pretty high but after a Bb, it seems like nothing) But Mark (the accompanist) said that I have to stay on the Bb. Yeah! I love a challenge. Now I just have to be able to hit it in front of a crowd and while dancing. Yikes.

And the banjo playing is coming along really nicely. I find it's a lot easier to learn than the mandolin. Maybe I'm used to forcing my fingers into finding chords. But it seems a lot easier and more natural. I can even play along with a few songs (not very well). I know most of the major chords and a few of the minor ones too. It's been fun.

Good job with reaching the high B flat. Keep it up! Good luck on performance day.
