Bringin' Home the Venison

Mark called me today. On their first day hunting, he shot a deer. A nice 2x2 buck (that means it has two points on each antler) I asked him if he was keeping the antlers. He said of course he has to, it's his first deer. He made me giggle the way he said it. At first I though he meant he had to because there was some law or regulation stating you have to keep the antlers, not just because you want to show them off. But I'm excited to see them. Your first deer is big deal and I'm proud of him. He was looking forward to shooting a deer since before last year's trip. So now he can relax and have a nice rest of the hunting trip. I hope he gets another one!
