Short and Sweet

So the saga continues. Our new awesome dishwasher arrived. We set it up. Mark was so proud of himself for installing it himself. I was so impressed with how quiet and clean it was. Everything was going great...Until I went to empty it one morning and there was bunch of water left in the bottom. So I decided to try and drain it. Nothing happened. I tried to run a Quick rinse, nothing happened. I tried everything. Nothing happened. I called the repair number and after navigating my way to a real person, I was told that they are very busy so to call again in an hour. I had to go to work so I just hung up. I left a note for Mark before I left and when I got home, he told me that he had called the number too. But this time he got through. He talked to the repair guy and he already knew what the problem was and had the part order. However, it wasn't going to arrive for another month! AHHH! That's when he suggested we go to Sears and exchange it since it was under the 30 day time limit. So on Thursday, Mark un-installed the dishwasher (found a loose wire) and we returned it. The new one will arrive on Tuesday. The people at Sears were surprised it had stopped working so quickly and were more than happy to give us the exchange. This new one had better work. It's been too long without a dishwasher. And we create a lot of dishes!

Speaking of extra dishes...we had some company come to visit us. Mark's sister and her husband and little boy came yesterday after work. We had a good visit. We saw where Mark worked (that was nice, I had never seen it either). They left his afternoon. It was a quick trip but it was really nice to spend some time together. Abby and Cousin played really well together. They shared pretty good and gave each kisses and held hands. They were so cure together!

While they were about to leave, Mark got a phone call from a friend in Moose Jaw. Their curling team needed another curler and he asked if Mark was interested. So he threw some things together and left the same time as the company. He texted me couple times. Sounds like he's having a good time.

After everyone left, it was so quiet at home and since it was such a nice day, Abby and I went to the park and played for quite awhile. There were a bunch of kids there but Abby didn't mind too much. She loved the swings. But soon it was time to go home and have supper.

So here I am, eating the rest of the apple crisp, watching the Rider game. Abby is upstairs happily sleeping the night away. Did I mention about her latest bedtime ritual? Abby has always been a little funny about sleeping. We used to put her in her crib and she would stand there and either watch us go or start crying. (Lately start crying) (this had always bothered me because sometimes it gets cold and I can never put a blanket on her) Well, the last few days she has really been playing with her blanket. Putting it on the floor and wrapping her babies in in, laying on the couch and getting the blanket put on her and her babies. So a couple nights ago when I put her in bed, she grabbed at her blanket. She put her baby on the pillow and I put the blanket over the doll. The next night, she went down next to her baby and I put the blanket on the both of them. So now, she lays right down and I put the blanket over her. I am so happy about this. Now she is all tucked in, she has a blanket in case she gets cold and she goes to sleep right away. I think she may be ready for a big girl bed. We have a mattress sitting in the garage and I can't wait to get it out of there!

What Cousin taught Abby...

Yeah, she kicked the phone out of my hand. What are ya goin' do!
