Road Trip!!

This weekend we took a road trip to go to a family picnic. On Friday after work, we loaded up and drive to Moose Jaw to spend the night with my in-laws. We had a nice visit and a campfire.

The next morning we drive to Herbert to visit my uncle in the nursing home. We also met up with my sister and her family so we all had a great visit. 

Then we drove into Swift Current, had some lunch and went to check out Doc’s Town and the Mennonite Village. There were three things I really wanted to see. The school my aunts and uncles went to (it closed before my dad went there but we went to a similar school just beside this one), the gas pump my grandpa and uncle donated and of course, pie!! 

 

Then it was time to head back to the hotel and go for a swim! 

The pool was so warm!! And the water slide was super fast. It was hilarious. Then we ordered pizza and watch the Riders stomp all over the Lions! 

This morning we packed up and checked out. Then we drove to the park and had our Family Picnic!

It was so good connecting with my family again. Some I haven’t seen for quite some time, some I’ve seen recently. I don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older, but these family get-togethers are more and more important to me. And I hope my kids carry on that tradition when they get older too.
