Clear Skies and Snow Geese

Snow geese are amazing. The sheer number of them flying overhead is mind boggling. And the noise!! 

Over the last few days, thousands upon thousands of snow geese have arrived on their way south. Every so often flock after flock will take off from the lake south of my house and fly over to land in the fields on the north side. Wave after wave of huge numbers fly (and honk) overhead. Just when you think the final wave is gone, you look at the horizon and see another cloud of of them! 

The pictures I can get of them hardly do it justice so I tried to take a video. It’s one minute long. I could have filmed for ten minutes easy. And then, after I went back inside, more geese came flying overhead - that lasted around five minutes. It’s good to know that at least the snow goose population is doing well.
