Deep Freeze

This summer we installed a storm door. We figured we needed it since every winter our door would become very frosty and the deadbolt would freeze so the key wouldn’t work. This was a big deal since our daughters get home before us (by about 10 minutes) and I don’t like the thought of them standing outside locked out of the house!! Especially when it’s -35°!!

Worth. Every. Penny. We’ve gone through a cold snap and never once did the main door frost up or freeze. Never once did I (or anyone else) have any problems unlocking the door. A couple times the storm door accidentally locked behind one of us and we had to ring the doorbell to get someone to open it for us so that’s an issue. But it hasn’t happened in awhile so maybe we’re good.
