Worth The Wait
I think I have a theme going on here. This will be yet another post about patience!!
Today we finally got to have our Fathers Day brisket. Last week the weather was too windy and rainy. Last night my husband stayed up all night smoking and spritzing and watching the smoker. It took 19 hours but this evening we had the most delicious meal!! We also made the special Mac ‘n cheese that we make whenever we have brisket. The girls kept asking why we don’t always make it this way. Probably because it takes half a block of cheese, a brick of cream cheese, 30 minutes to prep and and other 60 to bake. But SOOO worth it!! Worth the wait.
My youngest daughter had her 9th birthday in April. It was the second year in a row that she couldn’t have a party. So this year year we decided to do something special. We went back to the same place we took our other daughter to for her birthday party two years ago. Everyone got a have a ride on the horses, feed a mini cow and feed the chickens and geese. We even got to see a one day old calf!! Then we came home and ate cake!! She specifically requested Rice Krispie cake with cream cheese icing. It was an interesting combination and I don’t know if I’d ever do that again but it worked and she loved it!! Better late than never.

So I guess it true, anything worth having is worth waiting for.
