Ow

I went to after lunch on Friday with butterflies turning my stomach inside out. That was the first problem. Then as I was trying to get my glasses straight, they broke and the lens fell out. So I found the crazy glue and glued them back together. So no masking tape. Then after work, I needed gas so I went to fill up...only the pump didn't work. But I did managed to find a working pump and filled up with no problem. So I drove home, took a Tylenol and ate some food and Mark drove me to the dentist.

It was melting so much that it was hard getting in and out of the driveway. But we got there and waited in the waiting room. Finally I got into the dentist's room and then finally he walked in. He wiped my gum and I must have made a face because he asked me if I was okay. Yeah, but boy did that stuff taste bad. And when he took the X-ray, I had to bite down on that thingy, right onto my sore gum. I really winced at that and he asked if I was okay again. He must have thought I was a big wimp. But when he stuck me (twice) with that needle, that when I really showed my wimpyness. Finally the numbness set in and I had a terrible time swallowing.

Then came the pliers! And man, did he pull. Back and forth he went and when it seemed like it would never come out, it finally loosened. That was fine. But then they gave me gauze to bite down on. Right on my now quite sore gum. Whoo Nelly! I thought I could be strong and brave and all that but after a while of that dull ache pain, I couldn't take it. As we were paying, I had to leave and stood in the hallway crying. Mark took me home and got me all set up. He got me ice and some water and made me lie down. He even got me a notepad so I wouldn't have to talk. And when the anesthetic wore off, he brought me Tylenol. After he left, I went downstairs with my yogurt and Arrowroots. I alternated between TV and a movie (Walk the Line), yogurt and cookies and ice and no ice. And later, cold water.

I have to say, not as bad as Julie's story but definitely painful. We'll see how long I feel this way. I was dizzy right after so I'm glad Mark drove me home. Plus I was feeling a little car sick.

This morning, it hurt so much so Mark got me more ice and more drugs and it's feeling better. It's swollen but more on the inside than out so I don't look crazy. I'm quite hungry and I don't know how long Arrowroots are going to be able to hold me.

I made an appointment to see the eye doctor. For May5. Note to self, be very careful with the glasses!
