Pt 3 Don't Ya Just Hate That...
...when the thing you remembered isn't the thing you think you should have remember because you just remembered something that you think is the thing you were supposed to remember. Get that?
I was washing the stuffed animals, when I remembered what it was. I think it was the rushing water that reminded me. It must have been Thursday or Friday when the city crews came around steaming the storm drains. Mark went over and asked if they could do the one on our sidewalk so the water will drain. So by the time I got home, there were guys cleaning out the drain. Well, that may not have been the best idea because it turns out that the ice wasn't keeping the water from running down the drain but keeping the water from overflowing out of the drain. So later, water was pouring out of the drain, going against gravity and spilling into our yard and resting in a giant pool against the house. So Mark called the city and they came out to see what they could do. They eventually found the block and fixed it. Now the river beside the sidewalk is back down to a gentle brook and there is no water on the sidewalk and in our yard or in the house! Last spring we had so much trouble with draining. We fixed the backyard so all the water drains away, and that sure works. Mark and his dad also built a little canal beside the sidewalk so the water that flows off the street has a path to the drain. And now that the blockage is fixed, it's working too. So we're good for now.
Last night I had a craving for Boston Pizza's twisty bread. So I made a half-batch of pizza dough, stretched it out and baked it. I even made some dipping sauce with tomato soup, basil and pizza seasonings. I think the bread needed more garlic but Mark sure seemed to like it. We had a nice evening. Mark spent most of it with the boys but came and watched Desperate Housewives with me later on in the evening. Today I have the day off so I'm going to be running errands soon.
