New Thing Every Day

So Michael Jackson is dead. I was eating popcorn at the time and I had just switched the channel. I was about to open my mouth to pop in another bite when I saw the headline. My mouth dropped even more and I dropped my popcorn. I don't know if I was surprised or not. I mean, it's Michael Jackson. They say cardiac arrest. I call drugs. I don't mean to be crass or disrespectful but really, did you not see this coming? I read one post on Facebook that he should have died int he '80s when he would have been remembered as the king of pop and an amazing dancer rather than the legacy he leaves now. And I think that is the true tragedy.

Last night, Mark and I and Abby and Dee Dee went to Baker's Narrows for the evening. Mark's friend borrowed our boat to take his friends fishing (really sorry the weather wasn't better for you). So last night, they invited us to their campsite for supper. They were staying at the Yurts. I had only seen them form the outside. They are so nice. We had a great time there and I didn't want to leave. I forgot how much I like camping. So next year, we are going to either buy a tent trailer or rent a yurt for a few days.

Mark only has three days left of school. Hopefully we can do more things out of the house once he's done. I really want to take Abby to the beach but tomorrow is out of the question because the truck needs an oil change before our big trip south! I'm getting quite excited.

Abby has learned a new trick. She sticks out her tongue and spits. Everywhere. And she does it a lot. But it's so cute that I just have to laugh. She hasn't tried it when she's eating yet but give it a couple days.

I took her to get weighed and measured on Wednesday. She's 20 lbs 15 oz and 27 inches long. But her head is still growing at a concerning rate. So on the advice of the nurse, I scheduled an appointment with the doctor. This time Mark is coming with me so I don't have to answer whether her father has a big head or not. I had a few pictures in my wallet of Mark so I could show the nurse but she was still concerned. So when we get back form our trip, we'll all go see the doctor and get this all sorted out. I really don't think there is a problem. She is so alert and learning new things everyday so I'm not worried. I just would like the doctor to confirm that.
