We're Home
We had a great weekend. Mark took Friday off and we drove to Winnipeg. Abby travelled pretty well. She got a little cranky but drifted off. Otherwise, she played with her toys or her feet and smiled at us. We set up the truck so one of us sat in the back and played with her. When we got to Winnipeg, we went right to Mark's grandpa's place and visited with him for awhile. Then we went and got some supper. It was getting late, so we went to Mark's aunt and uncle's, who graciously let us stay there. I think they were happy to since then they got to play with Abby. I was a little worried about Abby waking them up at night but they said they never even heard her during the night. It was so much nicer to stay with relatives than having to find a hotel. They live really close to Grandpa so it saved us driving across Winnipeg. On Saturday, we spent some more time with Grandpa then did a bit of shopping. My sunglasses were getting old and the paint was flaking off for awhile now so I wanted to get a new pair. Then when we got into the truck on Friday, I needed to clean them and they broke in my hands. So now I needed to get a new pair. So I got a new pair of sunglasses and Abby got a hat. It was so hot that day. Earlier on, we went to another aunt and uncle's house and sat in the backyard. It was nice to soak up the heat but I soaked up too much and now my legs are burnt. They hurt a lot yesterday especially after sitting so long in the truck and then stretching when I would get out. On Saturday, we had supper at Grandpa's place. Then kinda relaxed in the evening. Abby had a bath. We woke up on Sunday morning and packed up. Then the whole family, around 15 people, went for breakfast. After that it was time to drive home. We hit some really heavy rain just outside of The Pas. Otherwise, it was a good drive. It was a quick trip but a very good one.
I'm trying to take it a bit easier today. Abby is cutting more teeth. She has been chewing like crazy and yesterday, I saw two teeth popping through her top gum. The one I can already feel, but the other one is still back a bit. She's not feeling too great. She's clingy and grumpy. She's having a nap right now. I had to give her some Tylenol so she might be out for awhile. Well, she needs it. It's been a big weekend. When we left the restaurant, she was closing her eyes as I was buckling her in. By the time, I shut the door, she was fast asleep and slept over 2 hours. I do need to get groceries but nothing else so she can sleep as much as she wants.
