Now Where Was I?
Oh ya...sick with the flu. I'll back up a bit....
This week was quite busy for us, Mark had numerous clubs and meetings throughout the week. On Tuesday he came to work so we could finish signing our wills. Now we're all nice and legal. On Thursday he missed our appointment with Investor's Group because of a last minute meeting at work. Oh well, it didn't matter too much. We were just transferring everything we had in Flin Flon here and it was all in my name anyway. I picked up some A&W on the way home for supper and that's when it happened. The Flu. Ug, it's been terrible. I was so sore everywhere and tired and either freezing or sweating. Friday night, I soaked the sheets regularly. I couldn't sleep, I tossed and turned in gross, sweaty sheets all night. The next morning I had a shower and washed the sheets. Yuck. Saturday wasn't much better. I sat in the chair beside the fireplace and had it blasting until Mark finally turned it off (24 degrees in the house). Thankfully Abby had a good nap in the afternoon so I did too. She hasn't napped at home in a while so I didn't have my hopes up. But she went down and I did too. It only felt like 15 minutes when I heard her crying. I looked at the clock and an hour had past. Mark took Abby to play downstairs so I slept a bit longer. I felt better after that. This morning I woke up feeling 75%. I didn't want to push it so we skipped church and hung around here. By noon I felt like me again. Abby napped again! I went to Walmart to get a couple things and she was still asleep by the time I got home! Yeah!
Tonight was our Valentine's Day meal. Mark is going to Arcola tomorrow for a curling tournament and I figured a Sunday would be a more relaxed day to celebrate anyway. I made feta-stuffed chicken breasts with a cookies and cream cake for dessert. (Cake was bought) It was yummy and surprisingly easy to make. Abby went to sleep like a dream so now I have all evening to finish the cake, watch TV and put up some pictures. Hope everyone has a great week!
Did I mention I bought a flat iron at Walmart today? I've been looking for a good one but I was worried I'd have to spend a lot of money at some salon. But I found one at Walmart and I tried it out today. It goes up to 410 degrees and it works perfectly! I am so happy! I can finally do my hair!!
