I'm OLD!!

It was my birthday yesterday. It was an awesome day, but it did make me realize one glaring fact. I am 29 years old. When I was in Grade 5, my teacher always told us she was 29. That was her age, every year. She never wavered. She was 29 and no one was telling her otherwise. So, somehow, I got it in my head that 29 is the best age to be, and once you attain that age, it's all downhill from there. Now I'm there. And I still feel so young! I don't feel old, I don't feel all that mature and I surely don't feel like it's all downhill from here. In fact, I feel like there is so much left to do! I wonder when I'll start feeling old.

So yesterday was my birthday. We slept in. Then there was a cup of coffee. then we lazed around the house until we all finally got dressed. There was a bake sale at the mall and I bought my favourite dessert...peanut butter squares with marshmallows. They are wicked bad for you but taste so good! Then we did a few more errands. Then it was time for lunch and nap. I even got a short nap in! Then we made some supper for Abby and got ready for the babysitter to come. We found a new babysitter. She lives across the street. She came with a bag of activities for Abby. When we left, Abby grabbed on to my pant leg for dear life. Apparently she cried for five minutes after we left then played with the sitter. They coloured, watched a movie and had a snack. When we got home, Abby was tucked into bed and the sitter was wiping the table. And all the toys had been put away. Happy birthday to me! As for our night out, we went to a grown-up restaurant. They had cloth table clothes and napkins. And a separate wine menu (that I didn't order from). My one request for eating out was that it had to be a nice restaurant and I wanted to order an appetizer and get dessert. So to start, we had stuffed mushroom caps. Oh my, were they ever good! And cheesy!! Then I had the cheese-stuffed chicken. Even more cheese! Mark had a steak. He got a Cesar salad with his meal. It was the funniest salad I have ever seen. I was a few leaves of romaine lettuce with a strip of bacon and a bread ring wrapped around it. It was really pretty but apparently a little difficult to eat since you had to cut it up. Good thing they provided a steak knife! After we finished, we weren't ready to go home yet. We drove to a coffee shop to see if it was still open. Closed. So we drove to Boston Pizza. They have good desserts. I had a hot chocolate and we shared a hot fudge brownie. The third game of the World Series was on the TV so I got to what a bit of that! We tried to think of more things to do, but failed miserably and by then, I was getting kinda tired. It was 8 pm after all!! So we drove home. We looked in on Abby and she was awake. So we gave her a kiss (and a trip to the potty) and relaxed in front of the TV for the rest of the evening. Yes, a great day indeed.

Friday was my doctor's appointment. All is well. My back has been hurting a lot lately. Especially when I'm standing and walking around a lot. So he gave me an exercise to do. I hope it helps. It really helps to sit around a lot! We got the dates all sorted out so I am 14 weeks (a a few days). Now we on the same page again. Due date is back to mid to late April.
