All-Consuming

I figured that's a pretty good title. It describes how I feel about the up-coming baby, my appetite and my attitude lately. Most of my thoughts revolve around how quickly the due date is coming up, how much can I eat and what is the most sore at any given minute.
Here's a typical train of thought:
Owie, those Braxton-Hicks sure hurt. Better sit down. Where's food? Mmm food. More. Boy am I tired. I should lay down. Ugg, it hurts to lay down. My back hurts. Better roll over. Holy cow was that ever difficult. Better not move anymore. Owie, more Braxton Hicks. Better get up and walk around. Ug. Oh look...more food. My tummy hurts.

So as it stands, I'm due next month. And it's coming down to the wire. But never fear, Mark is all done his extra-curricular activities after tonight and we will have our evenings and weekends free to set up the baby room and really get ready. This weekend I plan to set up the room, and make a couple lasagnas to freeze. And get a few things together in a bag to take to the hospital. I may have just jinxed it, but I don't think this baby will be late. The baby is making its way down - I can't believe how low I am right now. And I can feel the baby stretching me out. Abby was always up by my ribs - she would stick her toes between my ribs and turn but this little one dives down and pushes.

These were taken when I was 31 weeks along with Abby:

Here I am at 35 weeks

Scary.

Oh yeah, life goes on and I have done a few things non-baby related...
We had a big dump of snow last week and Abby loved it. On Friday, my babysitter had the day off so my parents came to watch her while I was at work. It was a really nice day so when I got home, there was a whole family of snowmen in the yard. They were so cute. Before we went out for supper, Abby said good-bye to them all. They even had sticks for arms and pinecones for noses. The next day, we took a quick (last minute) trip to Saskatoon. Mark got a couple tickets to the Bronze Medal game for the Brier. We left in the morning, had lunch in Regina and continued on. Abby had a blast with her cousins and made a few new friends (cousins of her cousins). I have pictures but they are way upstairs and I'm not getting up (except for ice cream). Mark and my brother-in-law went to the curling game since I really had no desire and he actually knows what's going on during the game. Mark said he had a blast. The seats he got weren't all that good but my brother-in-law is friends with the 2nd from Manitoba's brother. His wife saw them there and hooked them up with seats 5 rows away from the ice. Score!! So we have some really nice pictures (later). The drive home was tiring and long but we made it. Oh, and the family of snowmen? All that was left were a few sticks and a pinecone laying in the middle. And the head of one of the snowmen who was in the shade. It kinda reminded me of a massacre sight. Body parts scattered all around. Very disturbing. The head is gone now but those sticks are still there. The weather has been amazing lately. I even wore a skirt today which was lucky because I have almost run out of pants. I only have three pairs of pants and a few shirts that still fit (and are good for work). I refuse to buy more clothes for just two weeks left of work so I'm doing laundry about 2 or 3 times a week! I'm done work at the end of the month so after that, I can wear sweatpants and old shirts as much as I want. Mark's sweatpants fit me like a dream!

P.S. I was walking across the parking lot when I passed a group of 3 young guys. I was about to get in my vehicle when I heard yelled, "Congratulations!", "Yeah, Congrats!" I turned around, waved and yelled back my thanks. I thought it was kinda funny. And much better of a reaction than the lady who saw me in the post office. She turned around, saw me and squealed, "Ooh, baby!!"

P.P.S. I've been getting heartburn a lot more lately. Maybe I won't have a bald baby after all. Now where's my ice cream!!
