I’ve always wanted to make mulled wine. I thought about making it for last Christmas but it never happened. But this year I was determined to make it. So today, using the recipe I found here, I gave it a shot. I grabbed a bottle of cheap wine and a mini bottle of cognac and threw it all together. I was a little nervous about the star anise because I never really liked the taste of black liquorice but I figured that I should follow the recipe.

So maybe next time no star anise. But on the bright side, I discovered that I liked cognac! It’s like sweet scotch!
