‘‘Tis The Season

We went to our first Christmas concert of the year last night. It was also our daughter’s first band concert. She’s only started playing the flute in September. Sitting in the school gym brought back a flood of memories. I was in the school band for nearly all of my years at school and piano lessons before that. Having to perform in front of a crowd was never my favourite part and now it is something my kids get to experience. 

It was really neat to watch her progress. From the first time she tried out the flute to a few weeks of practicing and now to her first concert, it’s amazing to see and hear the difference. And then listening to the older grades play their pieces!

Next up will be our younger daughter’s concert next week. ‘‘Tis the season!!
