Miscellaneous
The long road to the potty continues. Abby can now tell us when she peed and you can tell when she is peeing. A couple nights ago, while she was in the tub, she stood up and said Pee! We told her that she'd get a candy if she peed in the potty, but no go...she wanted to pee in the tub. Arg.
Work has been going pretty well. We still need more staff. The other day, one of the newer girls was having a bad day. She looked really frazzled and stressed. So I told her about my screw up that day. My job is to open files and write the name of the file on the folders. Well, this file happened to be a sale file - a guy named Mr. Harder sold his house to another person. So I'm supposed to write his name on the file. She had just sat down at her desk and I went over there and said, "You think you're having a bad day? I was making up the Harder file and I forgot how to spell Harder. Yep, got to the R and completely blanked." She rolled her eyes at me, "And, that's bad enough but my maiden name is Harder!" Then she really started laughing. Yep, bad days all around.
The city wide activities sign up was today. Didn't even know about it. Don't know if I would have gone if I did. There are programs for Abby's age group but I don't think she's (I'm) ready for that! I mean, she still pees in the tub! I'm going to wait a little while before I think about that. There is a clubs program at the church that I think she would enjoy but it doesn't start until 7 pm. She's usually asleep by that time - or playing in her crib. I know I can put her in Music for Young Children, but...Arg. I don't want her to miss out but at the same time, she enjoys running around the Family Centre and splashing in the tub more than I think she would enjoy any organized program. Right now I'm just going to let her run free and get her involved when she's a bit older.
The geese have been coming back. Always a welcomed sight! Today I saw a squirrel. It does feel more like spring. I really can't wait too much longer. I can see grass in our backyard. It's flat and yellow but I can see it!
