Found Money

Mark and I had a nice weekend. We're trying to get out of the habit of watching TV and since it's been nice outside lately (with the glaring exception of today...snow!) it's been pretty easy. Mark helped a friend build onto his dock during Saturday and then we went for supper at the house of the principal of the high school. Another teacher and his family were there so it was a really nice evening. On the way back, there was a check-stop and I swear, every RCMP was out there, which makes me a little nervous, who was watching town? Anyway, they pulled over everyone! But as luck would have it, the one RCMP we know was the one to pull us over. Now, before you think we squeaked by, if we had done anything wrong, he would have pulled us right out. But since we didn't have anything to worry about, he let us go with a wave. He said that they were looking for seat belts, then why did he flash the light right in my eyes? Hmmm.

So on Sunday, I played at church and after, we took the trike out to the gravel pit and drove around. I even drove it. I got up to 3rd gear once! It's tough to turn because it's really tipsy but you can't go too slow, or you'll stall. On the way back, we stopped and picked up beer cans. That's how we got our exercise! We had to stop every 20 feet to pick up a can. We picked up 200 cans, and about 20 bottles. I found a box of empties and I thought that was pretty good, but nothing to what Mark found - a $20. Just sitting in the ditch waving as if to say,"Hey! Pick me!" It was great. I could see him jumping up and down and I was wondering what beer can could get him so excited. So finally we made it back to town, we got cleaned up, counted up and headed out for supper. We earned it!
