Phunny Phone Calls
It's a fall evening and I'm inside watching the wind blow the leaves off the trees. Not all the leaves mind you. There are still some stubborn ones that won't admit that summer is gone.
Hey, anyone want to go to www.mycancungetaway.com and try and help me to see if this is a scam or not? I got a call from them last night and they told me that someone had entered us in a contest to be among 200 Canadians to get $2600 off a VIP Cancun vacation. They only thing was that you only get one phone call and you have to commit to this during that one phone call or they go to the next person. And I had to commit to paying $600 right then. I asked if they could send me some paper work that I could read but I had to agree or not during that phone call. Mark was out fishing so I couldn't just agree to pay $600 without talking to him first. She mentioned that there is a credit card law that allowed you to cancel anything within 72 hours but it didn't sound right. So anyway, I said no. Besides, Mark and I want to go West like B.C. or Alaska and go fishing or sight seeing there, not in Mexico. But when I told Mark about it later, he said it was a scam right away. I'm not too sure but I'm still glad I didn't give them any information or agree to pay the $600!
My birthday present? The principal at Mark's school booked 40 tickets to Phantom of the Opera at the end of April in Saskatoon. So we're booking a bus and staying the weekend. It should be a great time. I can't wait. I get to buy a new dress. Mark wasn't too sure about that but everyone I tell that to seems to agree with me. Of course I need a new dress. But it won't be until April so I can't get too excited.
