Overload!
Well, I did it again. I overdid it yesterday. I clerked the Queen's Bench sitting yesterday. It's the court I'm not as familiar with so I wanted to do a good job. The Justice was really good and he went slow so I could write down every thing. At the breaks, we went over the Disposition sheets (where everything is recorded) together so he could see if I missed anything. There were quite a few that he didn't need to add anything and the ones he did, it wasn't too much. And at the end, he said "Good work". So that made me feel really good. Court ended around 12:30 so I went home for lunch and then back to work. I had to finish up all the paperwork and enter all the info into the computer. Plus there were files that had to go to other towns so I made sure those were done first so they could be sent away. I don't work again until Friday so I rushed to get it all done. I managed to get it all done right at 4:30. But on my drive home - I took the long way to unwind- my stomach felt like it had a ball of concrete in it. It was so hard and tight and uncomfortable. It was kinda hard breathing and I found myself taking deep breaths and holding them. I had to force myself to breath normally. Mark had to leave for the Year-End Dinner/Dance right away so I crashed on the couch.
After that, I felt better. But then I had to leave to go to a band practice. I'm performing with a group in town at Trout Festival. They are having a Folk music tent and lots of bands in town are playing. We only have about ten minutes for our set. So We started our practise at 7:30 and I didn't leave until 10:30. A lot of it was joking around and trading stories about the songs and the stories behind them. That's the thing about folk music. The stories take longer than the song is! But by the end, the house was getting really hot, and I was getting tired so I had to leave. I was the youngest one there by about 30 years but I had to leave first. As I was putting my banjo in the Jimmy, I could hear them still jamming.
Mark wasn't home form the Dance when I got home and the house was so hot, I took the air mattress down to the basement. When he did get home, we spent some time down there until we cooled off and then went to bed. So we're both pretty tired today. At least I can have a nap during the day. I hope Mark enjoys his last few days at school. He seems pretty excited for his summer vacation!
I guess I missed one important part in court yesterday. I can do it Friday, but it kinda put a damper on my good day. It's not a big deal but here I though I did so well. Next time. There's actually only one more QB Court sitting before I go on Mat Leave. I know that avoiding the problem isn't the best way to do, I should just learn it so I'm more comfortable with it, but right now I just want to relax and forget about it.
Yeesh, that was a long post.
