Where There's Smoke, There's Fireworks

Last night we went to see the fireworks. They don't start until midnight so they do it the night before so you don't have to worry about getting up for work the next day. And since it was Flin Flon's 75th Birthday, the fireworks were extra good. They were quite impressive. We were going back and forth between going or not but I really wanted to see them so I convinced Mark to come. Halfway through, he said he was really glad he came. The mosquitoes weren't that bad. There is a forest fire not too far away and the wind is bringing in all the smoke so it smoked out all the bugs. We had ash falling on us most of the day. The worst part of it is that is so hot here and we can't open our windows because then the house smells like smoke. So we slept downstairs last night. Today we planning to spend most of the day in the basement. The smoke is even worse today, but it isn't as hot outside.

We also are spending all our time in the basement. Fortunately there is a nice breeze today so windows are opened and it is not too bad. Hopefully the smoke calms down soon and you can resume life on the main floor and open your windows.
