6 Weeks and Counting
Abby went for her 6 week check up today. She is almost 13 lbs now. She's really growing now! She did pretty good at the doctor's. She was really content while she was measured and weighed. She even stretched out so she could be measured easily. But once it was time for the doctor to examine her, she got a little fussy. And when the doctor had to check me out and I left her sight, she lost it. After the doctor was done, he went and picked her up to try and calm her. So she was still screaming as I was trying to ask the doctor questions and basically talk to him. I could hardly hear him, so I reached over and picked her up. She started to calm down right away and he kinda looked at me and asked if she always did that. Yeah, usually. She likes to be held. Anyway, we are both doing great. She weighs what she should and I'm still healing well. I'm still not really supposed to be carrying heavy things but I can go back to normal activity. That means I can start to work off the pregnancy pounds. I lost a lot right away but haven't lost anything after that. But I did buy a pair of jeans the other day. I got tired of too big maternity pants and too small regular pants. So I bought a pair or normal jeans. They are still a little tight but then I'm planning to fit in them properly very soon. After the appointment, Mom and I went to The Orange Toad (local coffee shop) and had a Bombay Fog. It's a London Fog with Thai tea instead of Earl Grey. It's my new favourite. We saw a bunch of people I knew and they all had to see Abby and say how cute she is. (I don't even care if that sounds like bragging) Tonight, Mom and I inked her hand and foot and put them in a frame I got at the shower. Her foot was fairly easy to do but the hand took a few tries and a few tears. But I think we got it. Now I need to find a place to hang it. She's running out of wall space!
Mark called me tonight. He's already got three deer! A big doe, a small buck and a very small doe. So basically, this year, he got Bambi, his girlfriend and his mom. Well done sweetie!
