What was I going to say now?

Anyone know the song by The Arrogant Worms called Baby Poo? It's basically about a guy who used to talk about a whole variety of different interesting topics but since he had a child, all he talks about is baby poo. Truer words have never been spoken. Yesterday she pooped so big I had to wipe her down from her bum to her ankles. It doesn't help that once her legs get free she likes to kick them all over the place...especially in her soiled diaper. Nice. It took three wipes to get her clean. Speaking of The Arrogant Worms, I just saw that they have a new live CD out. I'm going to have to pick up a copy of that sometime soon.

There is a little known phenomenon called "Pregnancy Brain". (It's an actual thing. I saw it on Oprah. Dr Oz was talking about it) It occurs because the mother is so consumed with growing the child, her brain doesn't work as well as it used. Something about brain cells going to the baby. I can't remember for sure...I obviously suffer from it. This mother on Oprah was saying that she is losing words. She'll be in the middle of a sentence and she'll forget the next word. It stays with you after you have given birth. Probably a combination of losing brain cells and lack of sleep. I've noticed if I don't say what's on my mind right away, I'll forget what it is I want to say. Normally it's not that important but it's getting annoying.

So Mom, here's what I wanted to tell you the other day...

We put up the new blinds. The ones that cost $1.99. Yeah, they are worth about that. The big one is cracked on the end. They are the cheapest plastic I've ever seen. They only turn one way and I'm afraid to pull them up for fear they will break apart. Oh well. They were only $20 including taxes and shipping for the whole three windows. They will do for now until we can find some nice, non-cheap drapes.

And Mark...

Abby was starting to fuss in her swing, but instead of picking her up or giving her her soother, I just talked to her in a happy voice. She stopped fussing and smiled. Truth be told I only did this because I was tired of picking her up and having to hold her. But this good to know.
