A Spoonful of Sugar

Abby started this annoying little habit of only sleeping on my chest. Except at night. She would sleep through the night just fine in her crib. But during the day, for her naps, she'd fall asleep on my chest and wake up five minutes after I put her down. And even worse, she's getting really fussy and starting to cry in pain. I took a friend's advice and gave her some sugar water today. Right now, she is fast asleep on the chair. Plus, she hasn't had the pain cries tonight at all. But I do think it's time to start solids. She gets really fussy when I try to feed her. She'll break off and try to keep going but break off again as soon as she starts drinking again. It's like she wants more but can't get it. It's nearly time anyway so I think I'll try some tomorrow. I got a free sample in the mail so I'm going to try that tomorrow and see how it goes. If she takes it, I'll go out and buy some.

So I'm going to be playing in the town's music night again and I need to find some songs to play. One big problem, whenever I play, Abby starts crying. I'm trying not to take it personally. Here I thought she'd love music but all she does is cry. But now that she's sleeping better, she might stop that.

The was an article in our paper recently about how pregnant women and those with a compromised immune system shouldn't be drinking the tap water in town. Good to know that now.

She's not crying, she's trying to sing along.
