Has It Been a Week already?
Well, no, only 6 days but close enough. And I am exhausted! I didn't even work a full week! Abby has started this wonderful little tradition of waking up in the middle of the night and screaming at the top of her lungs. I think it's her teeth. Last night was the first night she slept through. The night before that, she screamed for almost an hour. (When she used to wake up, we'd let her cry and she'd relax and go back to sleep) When it became apparent that she was not going to relax and go back to sleep, Mark went in to find she had taken off her pajamas, was shivering and her diaper was about to explode (pee). So he changed her, put her pjs back on and told her to go to sleep. She cried a couple times then... silence. Beautiful.
Mark and I have been working on our wills lately. One of the perks of working for a lawyer! It's actually very straightforward. I guess it pays not to have large investments or a multimillion dollar company. Whew! I know a lot of people think it's morbid to talk about wills and what you want to happen when you die but I just don't see it that way. We buy fire insurance, and car insurance. No biggie. And now with Abby, we need to make sure she is taken care of. So we finally have the ball rolling. We bought a kit when we were still in Flin Flon and we tried to fill it out but we got sidetracked and confused and we started to think we needed a lawyer anyway. And then we moved. So it's been over a year since we started talking about it. It was time.
Speaking of about time...Roberto Alomar was just inducted to the Baseball Hall of Fame. I don't know under which team but I can't think of any argument to be made for any team other than the Blue Jays. He had his best years there, won five gold Gloves there, and helped his team to two World Series there. I guess we'll see in the days to come. It's just good to see that he got in...in only his second year of being eligible.
Mark and I have signed up for Apple TV. It looks really good and since we don't have cable anymore, we were looking for something to watch. The best part is that we can put all our DVDs on it and watch them on TV without needing to put them in the DVD player. Then we can put them on the IPhone and stick it in the portable DVD player when we go on a trip. We could bring all our movies along! And we can download anything from ITunes and watch it. Nice. I think I'm going to like that!
