Water, Water...Here

(This was taken yesterday. It’s up another couple feet today. If this keeps up, it will overflow!!)

Last summer we got a dugout built. At first they was a couple of water in the bottom but by the end is summer, it was all dried up. We were actually concerned about now being able to have water. We investigated different liners and chemicals we could put in the dugout to keep the water from draining away.

Water is very important around here. We have a well and can’t use our well water for watering plants or flowers or anything like that. For the first year, we hauled water for our brand new trees. We haven’t planted any other trees or flowers or a garden because we don’t have an adequate water source. Maybe if we do now I can plant some raspberries and blueberries!!

I’m not much of a gardener. I just don’t have the time or energy or interest to tend a large garden. And best case scenario, I get a whole bunch of veggies that I either have to eat or freeze or can. And I’m not learning to can vegetables!!!

I can handle raspberries and other types of berries. I’m good with that. And now we’ll be able to keep them watered!
