Oh Mr. Sun! Won’t You Shine Down On Me!
They were finally hooked up yesterday after a delay getting the two-way meter and an abrupt end to the program. The program being the province providing a rebate of around 20% of the install costs. We knew at the time that this was a temporary rebate so we were glad we got in. However, we, like a lot of people in the province were shocked when it was canceled without any notice. I actually started getting worried that we would never get hooked into the grid. But here we are.
Today was the first full day of solar power. We made 9.72 kWh (kilowatt hours). Now, to be fair, it was overcast all day and rained for a good portion of it. In fact, these next few days look about as bad for solar power generation as possible! Parts of the province are expecting up to a foot of snow! It looks like just some wind and rain for us.
Of course this has to be the weekend I planned a birthday party for my daughter! And we’re going horseback riding! Maybe it won’t be so bad!
