Ready, Set
I did it. All the Christmas baking is done!
Snickerdoodles
Cream Cookies
Scottish Shortbread
I know I’ll have to make more of a few of these but it’s nice to see the freezer is full again!! And I still might try my hand at Christmas Crack but this time I’ll use a recipe!!
I also wrote my Christmas letter today. I ordered some cards too. I’m feeling pretty good about the Christmas Season. Strangely enough, I’m not that stressed out. I’m usually freaking out about baking and gifts and plans and food and organizing everything but this year I feel this sense of calm about the whole thing. Like it’s all going to work out. Maybe because this whole year has been so hectic and chaotic and we’ve made it through so now I just assume that whatever happens we will be fine. I don’t know where we’re going to be celebrating Christmas this year or with whom. I don’t know if we’ll be hosting anyone and I don’t know if I’ll be able to share any of my baking. I guess I’ll just have to wait and see. And I think for the first time, I’m actually okay with that.
This is the first Sunday of advent. The theme for this week is hope. I think I’m finally starting to get it.
Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
