Happy Anniversary to Us!

Wow, 4 years. The big 0-4. The gift for this year is fruit or flowers. And that's exactly what I got. I got home from work and there were flowers on the table. Big yellow roses! They are beautiful. I was so happy. Then we went out for supper. No fruit, but the chicken was good. So then since I didn't get Mark anything, we drove to Walmart so he could buy a movie. We got The Godfather trilogy. I had never seen any of the movies and always wanted to so this was a good opportunity. We also got a few more things for the baby room. 5 weeks to go!! But seriously, now we should be ready. I'm nearly ready for work to be done. When I worked at Tim Horton's there was a girl there that was pregnant and they had to take her off the window of the Drive-thru because she was getting too rude with the customers. I think I'm getting there. I'm pretty good about being nice to their face but as soon as they are gone or I hang up the phone, there's a whole new conversation I want to have with them! But I'm going to take it easy this weekend. I already watched the first of the Godfather movies and I don't know what else I'll do tonight. We'll be sleeping in the basement tonight. Way too hot outside to sleep in our room.

Wanna hear something funny. We've been so preoccupied with waiting for the baby, we almost forgot about our anniversary. On the way home from Moose Jaw, it dawned on me that it was that week. Mark admitted that he totally forgot. But then all week we had been talking about it and planning to go out for supper. I didn't care about any kind of gift (which is why the flowers were so unexpected) all I wanted was not to make supper or do any dishes. well, last night, Mark calls up a friend and he starts making plans to go fishing tonight. It didn't click until I started thinking that at least I would have to worry about supper then. So then I yelled over to him that he couldn't go fishing. He started laughing and had to explain to his friend that he wasn't allowed to go fishing because it was his anniversary. So he'll go tomorrow. Now, I'd like to think I'm a pretty understanding wife. I don't make a big deal about him going fishing all the time with the guys and I encourage him to have the card nights here and I encourage him to go to their houses and have a good time with them. But leaving your pregnant wife on your anniversary so you can go fishing with your buddies is where I draw the line! Hmm, maybe that's why I got flowers.
