Working Out is Working Out

I have finally decided I need to actually do something exercise-wise. I wanted to take it easy because of the stitches but I gotta start sometime. So yesterday I rode the stationary bike for 15 minutes and did arm lifts. I worked up a sweat and my arms were tired so I think it worked. At first Abby did not like the bike, but she got used to the noise and fell asleep. She woke up just as I was finishing. I'm going to try soup cans as weights next time. Today I had some letters to mail so I put Abby in the stroller and took the dog for a walk to the mail boxes. The nice part was that after half a block, Abby fell asleep and stayed asleep long enough for me to put her back in her swing and have a shower. She's still kinda asleep now! Dee Dee was really good on the walk too. She respects the stroller and won't get too close but isn't afraid of it. She walked calmly beside it and not pull (too much). Plus the snow made it a hard walk. I was sweating by the end and I only went a few blocks. My arms were tired from pushing and my legs were tired. I was really puffing. So now I have a plan, if it's a nice day, I'll go for a walk with Abby and Deeds. If it's not a nice day, I'll ride the bike. My only concern is how do I know if I'm going too hard. Yesterday, there was blood on my pants from my incision. It looks like two dots have opened. I put some polysporin on it with a bandaid and hopefully that helps that. But if the outside is looking bad, does that mean the inside is bad? I have internal stitches too and those ones I can't see to check. I think what caused it was the baby trekker. I think the position I had it was pulling on the skin and pulled apart the incision. I'm trying it higher on my belly now so I hope that helps. It's less comfortable this way but it'll be better in the long run.
So other than that, I'm doing pretty good. Abby slept from 1am to 5:30am last night. The bad part was that I put her to bed at 11:30 and she didn't go down until 1am. She'd let me get nice and warm in bed and then start crying. At least this time I kept it together and finally she drifted off into real sleep. I think I have to either put her to bed earlier or later. I'll get it one of these days!

Chloe had that same sleeping problem, around the same age. I would put her down around 10:30/11 and she would wake up after 5-20 minutes crying and we would start all over again, sometimes till as late as 3 in the morning. It turned out she was overtired, so I started making sure that she was napping more often. Babies at this age can only comfortably stay awake about 1.5-2 hours, so at about 1.25-1.5 hours I would try putting her down for a nap. You may also want to try starting a bedtime routine, (story, bath, songs, infant massage, whatever). If all else fails, eventually she will grow out of it. Also, make sure she isn't cold. Chloe has been having that problem now that it is cold outside.
I'm glad you found a way to work out that you are enjoying and that is working for you. I also really enjoyed walks, but now it is too cold and I am too much of a wimp to go outside.
