Adventures in Babysitting!

Everyone survived the babysitting adventures! The babysitter came early so Mark and I went for coffee before we headed over to the Hall. I was so nervous during coffee. I was really jittery. (the coffee actually settled my nerves) Once we got to the dance, I was feeling a lot better. But then the phone rang. I could Abby in the background screaming her head off. She wouldn't take the bottle and nothing was calming her down for more than five minutes. I explained how to use the Trekker and that seemed to calm her down a bit. So I was pretty nervous again. But I phoned back about 20 minutes later to check to see if everything was okay. She had settled down and I couldn't hear any crying. So I could enjoy the rest of the evening. When we got home, Abby was asleep in the Trekker and all was calm. I felt really bad that Abby gave the babysitter such a hard time. But I guess we're just going to have to get used to leaving her with sitters.

Today we went to church and then went for coffee at a friend's house. It was a lot of fun. She is a co-worker of Mark's and they invited another couple who we hang out with quite often. We're going to have to do that more often. The rest of the day looks pretty lazy. I might watch a bit of the Superbowl if I can find an American channel so I can watch the commercials. I know my brother-in-law is a big Steelers fan so Go Arizona! (just kidding) In honour of the Superbowl, we're having wings for lunch. No, that's true wither. I just have wings in the freezer and I really love them so I use any excuse I can to eat them. You know the saying that money is burning a hole in your pocket? Well, wings burn a hole in my freezer.

I'm glad things went well. It's good to be able to go out once in a while.
