All By Myself!

The night before last, Abby woke up like she usually does around 2am and I took her into bed with me. Then around 3am, she decided she needed a pillow. So we sat up and crawled towards the pillow and laid her head on it. Then it wasn't good enough, so she crawled to another pillow and put her head down on that one. It too wasn't good enough, so she went to another pillow. She did that for almost an hour. Then she finally decided that my legs made the best pillow and fell asleep. When Mark came in to wake me up in the morning, he said that it looked like she just flopped anywhere. I guess it was kinda like that but it took her forever to find that right spot to flop. Later on, when it was time to get her up for her breakfast, she did not want to wake up. Arg, why couldn't she be that tired at 4am!!! The funny part is, I wasn't even upset during the night of a thousand pillows. She was just so cute going from one pillow to the next. Last night was kinda a repeat but she didn't take as long to find a spot to sleep. As usual, she forgot the laws of physics and snuggled in so close to me it was like she was trying to occupy the same space as me. Oh well, she's nice and warm and super cute.

Mark is away this weekend supervising the band camp. I was lonely so I called my parents after supper. Once I got off the phone, I felt so much better. There's so much talk around town about gangs - mostly exaggerated rumors but now I'm paranoid so I even locked the screen door last night. The dog took so long to pee that I finally had to drag her into the house. And while I was laying in bed, every little sound shot adrenaline through me. I'm always on alert in case I hear Abby but this was ridiculous. Hopefully tonight will be a bit calmer.

Today I got some groceries (in the rain) and after lunch, I have to go practice at the church cuz I'm playing piano Sunday morning. I'm not too sure how it's going to work with Abby along, but we'll see. But afterwards, I'm rewarding myself by getting a carmel latte at The Orange Toad. And, my dresses have arrived so I'm going to go and pick them up. My friend is renewing her vows so I decided it was a perfect time to buy a new dress - I also have another friend getting married in November. I haven't bought a dress since Mark's graduation so I figured it's time. But since there are no good places to buy a dress (Walmart is your best bet) I decided to order a couple from Sears and may the best dress win!

Abby's birthday is on Thursday, and I think I'm ready.
