My Awesome Weekend
Whaaa, it's over. My friend from Regina was just here for a few days and this morning, she started the long drive back. But let's start at the beginning. On Saturday, there was a beach day at Denare Beach so Abby and I got packed up and away we went. I got lost, again in Denare Beach. It's not set up in a grid so you can't just drive down any street to get to the beach and I always seem to pick the wrong street. So we eventually get there and still we're the first ones there. Finally others join us but by that time, it was getting late and Abby was getting tired and I needed to get ready for our company. And in no time, she was there. We had a really nice visit and Abby fell asleep at 9:oo and slept the entire night. Sunday morning, we all got up and went to church. It was the official 25th Anniversary so church was extra long - 2 hours. Abby had trouble sitting through it all and she only slept a few minutes. I took her into the lobby so she could sit and play. After church, we had a big pot luck. The church was packed for the service so the basement was full of hungry people. IT was a good time but then it was time to get home for a nap. After nap time, the girls went and picked a few blueberries. I found an even better route to the blueberries so now it's going to be even easier. Monday morning, we went and met some friends at Crepes and Grapes restaurant. They have such good crepes. Our usual is to share a Spinach and feta crepe and a strawberry crepe. That way you can have more than one. Since it was such a nice day, we wen tot he beach. It was so relaxing. I waded into the water. It was a bit more cold than I usually swim in but I couldn't resist. My legs hurt and my teeth were vibrating but it was still a good time. Then we all went out for supper along with two of Mark's friends who he spent the day fishing with. And this morning, my friend had to go home. Boo.
I realized just how much I missed her. There were times during our talks in the evening, I forgot where I was. It was like I was right back in her house in Regina. I'm really glad she came and now I'm getting ready for my parents to come and visit. I wonder if they'll want to go the the beach too! Or maybe just pick up some blueberries.
