A Plantin' We Will Go
It was a big day of planting for us here on the acreage. I went to prune the lilacs - no blooms right now but the chokecherries are doing quite well. Very fragrant.
Awhile back we ordered 30 Crystal Blue Colorado Blue Spruce trees to replace the ones in the shelter belt that didn’t make it. They arrived and we went to pick them up.
We also decided to get a couple cedars to use as a windbreak next to our deck.
And of course, I was keeping my eyes open for any raspberries, blueberries or Saskatoons. They only had Saskatoons so we got three.
Then it was time to plant them!
We weren’t exactly ready for the Saskatoons but we quickly got the ground ready. Luckily since we knew we were getting some trees, we got everything together so we can take water from our dugout. And while it has dropped over the past few weeks (we need rain) there was still plenty for what we need.
The Saskatoons are in.
Cedars planted.
Little helper!
