Ik houd van honkbal
In honour of the World Baseball Classic...
Mark said she looked like a boy. Didn't he see her pink socks?
I have decided I'm going to start weaning Abby once she hits 6 months. I think I've mentioned this before but it's getting closer to that time and I'm starting to have to realize that it's going to happen. (Yikes, what a sentence.) In many ways, it's going to be great. No more having to make sure I'm around every 2 hours so she can eat. And no more worrying about being out and she might get hungry and I'm going to have to feed her in public. No more getting up in the middle of the night - now I can get Mark to get up!!) No more sitting on the couch feeling drained as soon as she starts eating. No more nursing bras. No more worrying about what I eat. I can have peanut butter worry free. I can eat that extra cookie and not worry if she's going to get hyper from the extra sugar. And no more timing that glass of wine! On the other hand...It's nice to be able to simply feed her when she gets fussy. Now I'll have to actually go and get a bottle ready for her. And what if I'm wrong and she's not actually hungry? But she has to be weaned sometime and these issues will always be there.
I was watching the Dominican vs the Netherlands game. I has been so much fun watching the Netherlands play because they were not supposed to be good at all. Their first game, they beat the Dominican and the second game, the almost beat Puerto Rico. That's like saying Italy beat Canada and almost beat USA at hockey. Well this was their third game and it was against the Dominican again. It was getting exciting. It had been scoreless all game and they were playing in the 11th inning. Of course by that time, Abby was getting hungry so I was nursing her during the 11th. The Dominican scored a run but the Netherlands had the last bat. They got one run to tie it up and then, with two outs, this guy who I have never heard of, hits a ball to the first baseman, who I have heard of, who can't handle it and the Netherlands score the winning run!! This is a team with only 2 players currently in the major leagues compared to the Dominican who have 27 players in the MLB. I was so excited, I wanted to jump up ad down, but of course I was nursing Abby who, if I even speak a word, will stop eating and look at me weirdly. So had to sit there calmly while one of the worst teams, the team they said was just happy to show up, beat one of the best teams in the world. I can't wait for the MLB season to start but for now, I'll keep watching the Classic!!
