Bird Time!

I saw this absolute beauty one my drive home today. This isn’t my picture - there’s no way I could’ve been able to capture that!!

I looked it up on my Audubon app - it’s a Swainson Hawk (that’s where I found the picture).  There are different variations of this hawk, some are dark, some are light. The one I saw was exactly like the picture. Even to the point where it was sitting on a barbed wire fence. And since I read that most males have grey heads and most females have brown heads, I’m naming this beauty, Hannah. 

It’s been very windy here. Today it’s calm, but the last few days the wind was gusting over 70 km/hr. My dog doesn’t like the wind. It makes her whiny. For two nights in a row, she barked at night. Something she hasn’t done since the first week we brought her home. In fact, the night before last, she barked so much we had to bring her into our bedroom before she finally settled down and went to sleep.
