Out of Sorts

This afternoon I was covering for a co-worker. She sits at a different computer, at the front of the office. Her desk is set up differently, her mouse is different, her phone is different, her desktop and keyboard is different. But maybe worst of all, because it’s not my computer, I have to log onto my email through a different program. It took me longer than I care to admit for me to figure out how to save and print emails. And that’s half my job!!! It’s still not the easiest system but I got it.

And to cap it all off, the tray under the desk that holds the keyboard kept falling down. Three times it did that! I fixed it the first couple times but the last I just shoved it back together and put the keyboard on the desk.

I guess I’d better get used to it though. She’s on holidays all next week so I’ll be right back at it on Monday. Oh well, maybe by then I’ll be used to it and it won’t be weird anymore.

As a pure creature of habit this is not my idea of a good time. But it’s only a week. I’ll survive.

On a better note, this morning while I was waiting for the bus, I saw lots of flocks of snow geese flying overhead. I love the signs of spring!
