I Made It!!
This week is always the hardest. It’s when my husband goes away for a few days with Skills Canada. This means all the extra help he provides around the house is gone with him. He’s the one who picks up the girls after school and helps them with their homework and then makes supper so it’s ready when I get home.
He left yesterday so I asked my parents to come down and give me a hand. They picked up the girls from school and my mom brought a delicious casserole for us all. Everyone - including both girls - ate it up! The. We were all able to watch the youngest at her Taekwondo class. It was a nice thing for grandma and grandpa to see. I get off work earlier on Fridays so they went home on the bus and I got home just a few minutes after them.
And now my week covering the reception desk at work is over too. I survived fairly unscathed. I think. I’m just glad it’s not my normal position. I like where I am.
So now the busy weekend begins. The girls are working at the annual Trefoil Tea tomorrow, the youngest is going to a birthday party in the evening. And then it’ll be her turn on Sunday to host her own birthday party. I baked her cake tonight and I’ll decorate it tomorrow. Then at least I’ll have one thing ready for the party!!
Oh, one more thing. One of the student my husband took to Skills won gold (the other won silver). But gold means that he gets to go on to Nationals. This year it’s in Halifax. So that means another trip away, this time across the country. But it’s a really awesome opportunity for him to visit of part of Canada he’s never seen. I’m excited (and jealous) for him. Now I’ll just have to see if I can get my parents back to help me out again!
Don’t judge me, I earned this!
