He is Risen
I’d like to think I pulled it off. That I made this year’s Easter special enough to overcome the fact that it is different this year. On Friday, we decorated eggs and spent some time outside.
Last night I hid a bunch of chocolate eggs around the living room and kitchen and this morning the girls got up and ran around and found them all. They made out pretty well! Now to make sure that they don’t get tummy aches! For breakfast we had our usual special breakfast of waffles and sauce.
Then I watched my uncle preach an Easter service online. It was nice to be able to be a part of that. I made the girls watch an episode of VeggieTales - An Easter Carol. The girls are kinda old for VeggieTales but they liked the show and got the message.
For supper, we made ribs and had apple crisp for dessert. It felt nice to be able to provide some semblance of tradition in this weird year.

So all in all it was a success. And even with all that I found myself a little emotional. I was watching some tv this afternoon and I found myself getting teary. Now I’ll be the first to admit that I am a crier and I cry a lot watching tv and movies. But these scenes weren’t overly emotional. Now I just have to make sure that my little one has a decent birthday this Thursday and maybe I’ll be able to relax a bit.
