Working Girl

In the respectable sense. I once watched a TV show set in the Old West. There was a wagon that came into town and people were mad at them because they were working girls. I thought to myself, well, that's mean, just because they have a career, people get mad at them. Then I saw their outfits and realized they were "working girls".

Well anyway, I am now working at Nasselquist Jewellers on Main Street. It's a jewellery/gift store. It's really pretty inside and has lots of really pretty figurines. My job will be mostly dusting. You can laugh if you want Mom. It's a casual job so I can still look for more work or volunteer a the library more. Oh yeah, I haven't mentioned that yet. I have been volunteering at the McIssac Library. I do all the busy work so she can do her real work. I think she feels guilty making me put stickers on the spines of books and taping the books. But if I can do the tedious stuff than she has time to do the more important stuff. She had been dreading shelving this one section of books so I did it for her. It was easy. But today I didn't go cuz I had my interview. I don't think it was an interview so much as a this is the job, are you still interested? My kind of interview. Plus, she took me out to The Orange Toad (the coffee/book store). Great interview. She's going to phone me this afternoon with a kind of schedule. It will only be one or two shifts a week but it's better than nothing. I wore my suit to the interview and when she saw it, she kinda laughed and said that I didn't need to dress up for this. But I told her I'm glad I did cuz it's only 6 degrees outside. It's supposed to rain later today. Boo.

Well, all in all, it's been a good day. Except for the weather, I'm doing good. Got a job, some extra income and now I'm in my fleece pants and fuzzy Mexican sweater. Life is warm and fuzzy.
