My Day in 4 Chapters

Chapter 1:
Woke up and went to my pedicure appointment. It was scheduled for 9 am. When I got there the lady said I looked tired. I was. Didn't sleep so well last night. I only got up once but it took awhile to get back asleep. Not because I was uncomfortable, I was actually feeling better than I had in a long time. I just couldn't fall asleep. Oh well. So we went in the back pedicure room. I was warned about ventilation but there was a A/C in there so I felt better. So she filed down my toe nails and rubbed off fall the dry dead skin. It kinda tickled. She said I have very nice feet. I can't image what gross feet she has to deal with. Yuck. Anyway, I picked out a blood red for my nails. I figured...it's the toes, you can go bold with toes. She got done nine toes when I suddenly felt really hot, weak and dizzy. We were kinda talking so I asked if she had any water. She said she wanted to finish off this last toe then she could find some water. Then she looked up and saw me and put down my foot and grabbed a glass of water. She started getting really concerned how I was feeling. I went and sat in the hallway until I felt better. Then I went back in and she finished off my last toe. I had to wait a few minutes for it to dry. By then, it was starting to come back so I was glad when she came back in and said they were done. By then it was time to get my hair cut.

Here are my toes:

Of course, Deeds wanted a piece of the action too:

Chapter 2:
I had planned on getting my hair cut really short for the baby. That way I wouldn't have to deal with blow drying or putting it up all the time. So I took the plunge. This appointment went fine, no dizzy spells. Just a lot of hair gone. But it feels so light and free now. I'm just going to have to get in the hang of doing it now!
The new do!!
(My nose looks really big in this picture. It's not really that big in real life!)

Chapter 3:
After lunch, I went to my doctor's appointment. He said that the baby has dropped and in position. He asked me if I've had any contractions - nope. Any movements - lots. Last night the crazy kid was trying to claw it's way out. It was getting uncomfortable. Finally it went to sleep and I afraid to move as to not wake it up again. Lately my stomach get really hard every once and awhile. It'll go away after awhile then get really hard again. It doesn't hurt, but it sure isn't pleasant. It's hard to move when that happens. Well, while he was checking me out, it happened. He gave me a funny look and asked if I was feeling any cramps. I said no but this has been happening a lot lately. He nodded and said it was Braxton Hicks. So that's what they feel like. I always thought they were supposed to be painful. So anyway, I asked him how much longer he thought since the baby is has dropped. He said to make an appointment for next week but hopefully he's hear from me before that! Horray!! Before I left, he told me to get a non-stress test before my next appointment. Just to make sure the baby is moving and the heartbeat is good I guess. But maybe I'll go into labour before I need it. It's not a big deal, I had one before. You lay there and they strap two disks to your belly. One monitors the baby's heartbeat, the other checks to see if you're having contractions. It only takes about 15 mins and it's quite boring. The one fun part is to watch the ticker that comes out. It shows when the baby moves because the heart rate goes up. So that's one thing to look forward to next week. When that was all done, I got some groceries. I was nearly falling asleep driving home. So once I got home and all got all the groceries out of the Jimmy, I put away anything that needed to go into the fridge, left the rest on the counter and went to bed. Then Mark came home and it was time to go again.

Chapter 4:
We had been talking for awhile about getting a new vehicle. Right now, both are 2-door. When we were in Moose Jaw the last time, he test drove the new 2008 Dodge Ram. We really liked it but wanted to know the situation with our loan on the truck right now. Well, it's getting to the point when if we sell it, we might get a decent price. But we can't wait too much longer. So on Monday, we checked out the local Dodge dealer in town and found a nice truck. It's pretty decked out. Mark said he never wanted leather seats but if you want all the other bells and whistles like heated seats, temperature and direction in the mirror and all the other great little extras, you have to get the leather. So we trade in the old truck for a new truck. We didn't get as much for the old truck than if we had sold it privately but then you have to deal with selling a vehicle. We've been through that once. This way, it's their problem to sell and it's out of our hair. It's at the point where some regular maintenance will be necessary. But quite there yet. The tech said the truck looked great - nothing wrong with it at all. But it's 2-door and not great with a car seat. And it's got some weird quirks that I'm glad to get rid of. Now we have a brand new truck with no history and full warranty. Plus, the Jimmy is still running great. But it's 2-door too and a really tight squeeze to get the car seat in. We tried. We got frustrated. So now with the 4-door truck, we are good to go. The one really nice thing is that the back seat folds up. It's a 60/40 split so we can keep the baby in it's seat and raise the rest of the seat for more storage.

So that was my day. Tonight, I talked to my parents and Mark's parents - both of whom I haven't spoken to in a while and thought I might be in labour. Well, maybe more hoping I was in labour than really believing it. But I wasn't so I got to spend some time catching up. And yesterday I got a nice call from my sister. I had told her that we thinking about getting a new vehicle but at that point we were still undecided because we hadn't seen what the dealer had and what kind of rebates they had. Won't she be a bit surprised!!

Okay, my fingers are falling off and hitting the wrong keys, so I think it's time for bed.

P.S. The Riders ended up winning which helped my mood immensely. And the Jays are red hot lately so I think I'll be okay now!
