Winter Wonderland

Yes, it snowed. And quite convincingly too. When I got home from getting groceries today, me and Deeds went for a walk. I wanted to capture some of the snow while I still thought it was pretty.

At first Dee Dee didn't want to step off the nicely shovelled (thank you Mark) sidewalk. But after a little prodding, she was having fun in the snow. One thing she loves to do is stick her face in the snow. I think she hears or smells something. One time she had head down there a while and was digging at the ground. I've seen coyotes and foxes do that to catch mice running under the snow but I've never seen a dog do it. I guess life in the bush doesn't go away that quick. I was thinking that at this time last year, she would have been on her own already. Now she can play in the snow and not worry.

I was having fun too. I had put on my runners thinking the snow wasn't all that deep. I crossed the street, got a shoeful of snow and turned around. I put on my big winter boots that come halfway up my legs and stomped out. I was very glad I had those babies on. But still, when I got home, there were two matching wet spots on my legs. I think some hot beverage is in order.
