Diving In
My oldest daughter is not a risk taker. From the time she was little, she never did anything before she knew she could do it. She didn’t walk until she was around 16 months old. And then she ran around the house. At the playground, she never jumped off the play structure or went down the fire pole unless I helped her first and showed her that she’d be able to do it. It took her years before she’d jump off the diving board.
That’s why this video gives me so much joy.
Her little sister was at her second birthday of the weekend so I decided to take A to the pool to have some fun of her own. She ran off the diving board with no hesitation. Then she went down the water slide over and over.
To see her grown and blossom is really awesome to watch. Plus, now she’s older and more independent, I can sit on the couch on the side of the pool and scroll through Twitter instead of following her around. Win win!!
