Today I was going to get up early and pick more blueberries and then go to the store to get the stuff I need to make muffins. Instead, I slept in and watched Days. Then we moved our bedroom into its original room. It's the biggest of the upstairs rooms but it's the first one and it's next to the road. So it's loud. But I think Mark wants me to get up earlier in the mornings. No more sleeping in. This is nicer though. No more putting the dresser in the closet cuz it doesn't fit anywhere else. The room looks so big now.
The shingles showed up today. They are currently sitting on top of the roof. Which is where they should be however, they are still in the wrapper. Oh well, it's a start. It was really hot today. After Mark came in from watching them unload the shingles he said we should go to the beach. So we did. This time we swam around. The water was a little chilly but it felt nice. We only stayed for a little bit. The beach was getting crowded and my ears were starting to hurt. So now we're home and relaxing. I might still go berry picking, I haven't decided yet. It will probably depend on if it rains and how bored I get inside. After yesterdays baseball game, I might stay in and watch it again.
I can't remember the last time the Blue Jays had so drama on and off the field. That Mr. Hillenbrand knows how to stir things up. The Jays were just getting over the J.P./Wells fight (which in my mind was nothing more than token words intended to spark something and token words back to defend the team, almost scripted, like a brushback pitch after your player was hit) That's to be expected. But this? As far as I can tell, Hillenbrand had been upset that he was getting lower and lower in the lineup and used less and less. Then, after taking a few days off to adopt a baby, he comes back to find he is not in the lineup yet again. So he tells the reporters all about among other things. The next day he's gone, designated for assignment. I hope they get something good for him. Apparently he's been demanding a trade for quite some time now and got into a heated argument with the manager. He even wrote "The ship is sinking" on the bulletin board in the clubhouse. What I can't understand is that the Jays haven't been playing this well since they won the World Series and he thinks that they aren't winning? And he's so upset that he isn't in the lineup when he was out of town for four days. You'd think he'd need some time to get back into shape. Plus, he never actually told them how long he'd be gone, how is Gibbons supposed to make a lineup if he isn't sure if a player will be there and if he is that he is ready. Well, he's gone and it looks like there is a lot of interest for him so that's good. Apparently, he's left most of his teams on a bad note. There are a few things I cannot accept in a ball player, publicly calling out your teammates/coaches and insubordination to your manager. And he did both. Too bad, I kinda liked him. I guess it's easy to like someone when you have no idea what they are really like. That's why I never want to meet anyone I really admire. What if they aren't what I think they are? And who could be?
Just a small side note. A big thumbs up to the farmers in Sask who convinced the guy who killed the Mounties to turn himself in. Well done.
