What a day...so far
Well, I just got back from some berry picking. I went up to the rocks just south of the house, it's where I usually take Dee Dee for walks. I loaded up on bugspray this time. I didn't want a repeat of yesterday. I'm still pretty itchy and my one knuckle is swollen so bad it kinda hurts to make a fist. At first when I got out there, I couldn't find any blueberries. I got worried that I'd have to go back empty-handed. But then I spotted a small blueberry bush. Then beside it was another and another and another. Pretty soon, they were all over the place. I spent about an hour out there and got about three cups worth of blueberries. I'm going to make blueberry muffins. Before I left, Mark warned me to be careful because there are bears around, especially around berry patches. So the entire time, any time a bug flew by or the wind moved the trees, I'd look up and expect to see a great big black bear. I was so paranoid. But they are around. When we went yesterday, she told me that she usually takes the dogs and if she doesn't she talks really loud. Today I was by myself, I thought about taking Deeds but she'd just get in the way, or else run off. And I'm not big on talking out loud to myself. Even with other people I'm not very talkative. Well, she lives quite aways in the bush and she's only ever met two bears in all the time she was berry picking. I was still close to the city and could hear the cars on the highway and the water treatment plant, so I think I was safe. Just paranoid.
I borrowed Anne of Windy Poplars from the library the other day. I finished it last night. I liked it, I'm on the next book now.
We might go to the beach later on today. That is if the weather holds. It's supposed to rain later on but I don't know, it's getting more cloudy now but it was beautiful when I was out.
Congrats to Amanda who just had a baby girl Avelyn Paige Brown 6 lbs 12 oz. After 40 hours of labour. Wow.
